Eric "Todd" Rumsey made his trip to his Heavenly home on Wednesday July 16, 2025 in his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Todd was known for his big heart and charismatic personality. He helped his father run Big D's convenience store, later opened Madison General store with his mom and then the local antique mall. Todd was an active member of True Gospel Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Secretary Treasurer. He loved all the members there and thoroughly enjoyed his short time as a teacher for True Gospel Baptist Christian School. He was very passionate about witnessing to others so that they might know Jesus.

Todd enjoyed watching his two grandchildren play baseball and spending time with his loved ones and friends. Todd is survived by his wife, Zerita Rumsey, his daughter Haley Marks (RJ), his mother Sally Rumsey (Jimmy), his son-in-law Joe Layne (Jeanette), his grandchildren Cooper and Caleb Marks, Jessica Johnson (Cody), Daniel Layne. His great grandchild Rhett and one due in October. He is also survived by his brother Don Rumsey (Suzy), Sister Tammy Pusey (Mark), Sister Leslie Russell (Randy), Sister Heather Patton (Chuck) and several treasured nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Don Rumsey, and daughter Kimberly Layne.

Visitation will be held at True Gospel Baptist Church on Saturday July 19, 2025 at 11am, funeral service will begin at 1pm. He will be laid to rest at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
