Obituary

Edith Evelyn Parks Jarrett, age 92, of the Preston Road, Martinsville, died on February 02, 2011 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in McDowell Co., WV on March 26, 1918 to the late John and Sarah Buchanan Parks. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Broughton Leonard Jarrett, three brothers, Jim, Sam and Jack Parks, and two sisters, Mae Poe and Dorothy Carter.
She attended Friendly Worship Center for over 40 years, and she retired with over 30 years service with Pannill Knitting.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, James "Jim" and Regina Jarrett of Spencer, Ronald "Ronnie" and Ann Jarrett of Lynchburg, two brothers, John Parks, Jr. of Keystone, WV and Robert "Tommy" Parks of Collinsville, two sisters, Mary Whaling of Bluefield, VA and Shirley Williams of Bluefield, WV, one grandson, James L. "Jimmy" Jarrett, II, of Spencer, two step-grandsons, Steve Rea and Bobby Rea both of Lynchburg, five step-great grandchildren and one step-great-great grandson.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Gribble and Pastor Kirby Phillips officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of Jim and Regina Jarrett at 7 Evergreen Dr., Spencer.
