Edith Mahaffey Deatherage age 89 of Murphy Road, Collinsville, died Saturday October 23, 2010 at her home. She was born May 10, 1921 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Walter Lee and Mary Leona Holland Mahaffey. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Grady Deatherage, Sr. in 1997, and two brothers, Leonard and Bill Mahaffey.
She was a homemaker, and worked at DuPont during World War II. She was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Grady "Butch" Deatherage, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
The graveside funeral service will be Tuesday October 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Tracy Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends at the home on Murphy Road in Collinsville.
