Edgar McKinley "Eddie " Rutter age 69 0f 150 English Road, Martinsville died Friday June 25, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born May 12, 1941 at Damascus, VA to the late Everette McKinley Rutter and Willie Flanagan Rutter Richards. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Joe W., Everette E., Gerald, Jackie, and Paul Rutter, and one sister Carolyn Rutter. Mr. Rutter was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church, and retired from C.P, Films with over 37 years of service. Eddie was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Carline Perdue Rutter of the home, two sons, Chad McKinley Rutter and his wife Lindsey of Collinsville, Christopher Lee Rutter of Axton, one daughter, Sherrie Lynn Setliff and husband Paul of Martinsville, two grandchildren, Joshua Adam Moore of Martinsville, and Kale McKinley Rutter of Collinsville.
The funeral service will be Monday June 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Joe Hamilton and Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Sunday June 27, 2010 in the Roselawn Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Spring Street Baptist Church, 200 Spring Street, Martinsville, VA 24112.
