IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Earvin John
Setliff
January 18, 1941 – February 28, 2026
Earvin John Setliff, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on January 18, 1941, to the late Posie and Elsie Brammer Setliff, Earvin lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his work. He proudly served in the United States Army and later retired from Ronile, Inc., after many years of faithful service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Setliff Bowes; his brother, Bernard Setliff; his half-brother, Alton Moran.
Earvin is fondly remembered by his daughters, Karen Voorhees (RJ) and Teresa Bateman (Matt Tatum); his brother, Glayton Setliff; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Ronnie Clifton, Etta and Eugene Brogan, Gatha and Joe Lankford, and Mary and Lloyd Harbour; half-sister, Aileen Ferguson along with ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He very much enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking pleasure in the challenge and dedicating countless hours to the outdoors during his life. He also loved gardening and was sure that he was often feeding the deer and rabbits more than he was benefitting from the garden himself.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with full military honors provided by The Martinsville-Henry County Veteran's Memorial Honor Guard, and Pastor J.T. Clark officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon.
Interment will be private in Roselawn Burial Park.
