Dorothy Adkins Young age 80 of 1929 Virgil Goode Highway , Rocky Mount, died Saturday March 20, 2010 at Carilion-Franklin Mem. Hospital, at Rocky Mount. She was born July 18, 1929 in Franklin County to the late Robert and Myrtha Radford Adkins. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, William Jackson Young, her twin sister Doris Adkins, and three brothers, J.D., Clarence, and Kerm Adkins.
She was a homemaker, and had attended Fork Mountain UMC.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Young of Rocky Mount, and Leon Young of Floyd, two brothers, C.L. Adkins of Ferrum, and Charlie Adkins of Endicott, one sister, Madeline Jones of Ferrum, and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday March 23, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. J. D. Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home of her son Frank Young at 1931 Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount.
