Dorothy Jackson, 94, of Essex MD, passed away Sunday December 12,2021.  She was born October 31, 1927 in Surry County, NC to the late Ernest & Pearl Amburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters; Lucille Weaver, Amanda Turner, and Susie Scott, and brothers; Manford Amburn, Bill Amburn, and Russell Amburn.

Dorothy retired from Coats & Clark Factory of Newport News, VA after 36yrs. She also worked at JCPenny of Hampton VA for many years.

She is survived by her daughter and only child; Cassandra Riggle (John), beloved grandchildren; Branden Newton and Jarod Riggle, sister; Georgia Earles, and brothers; Ernest Amburn and Jimmy Amburn, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy loved getting her hair and nails done, word search puzzles, game shows, watching baseball (especially the Braves), and eating vanilla ice cream every night.

Service will be held at Roselawn Burial Park on Dec. 21st, 2021 with a viewing at 2pm and graveside service at 3pm.
