Dorothy Mae Riggs Hill, age 93 of Collinsville, passed away on May 17, 2018 at her residence.  She was born on August 7, 1924 in Montcalm, WV to the late Gilbert and Rachel Day Riggs.  She was also preceded in death by her husband William Hill in 2010, her brothers, Gilbert Riggs, Jr. and Kenneth Robert Riggs and six sisters, Hazel White, Lorene Glass, Nellie Kinzer, Macile Miles, Freida Muncy and Margie Shrader.

She had worked at Stanley Furniture and Bassett Walker before retiring.   Dorothy was a member at Day Star Ministries. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their care and compassion to Mrs. Hill.

She is survived by her son, Clarence Hill of Martinsville, her daughter, Karen Hill Cozart of Bassett, a sister, Elizabeth Riggs of Bluefield, WV, five grandchildren, William Cozart, Lisa Cozart, both of Bassett,  Brent Hill, Bill Hill and Amy Shelton all of Memphis, TN and six great grandchildren.

Her service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Sammy Caldwell officiating the service.  Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park.  The family will receive friends on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn and at other times at the home of Karen Cozart at 258 Winnfield Road, Bassett, VA.
