Dorothy Thomas Ellyson, age 82, of Martinsville, died on Sunday, Ferbruary 2, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Charlotte Co., Va. on December 18, 1931 to the late Lawton Elmo and Rena Hamlett Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Ellyson.

She had been a member of Wilson Street Pentecostal Holiness Church since 1954 and had worked at Lacy Mfg.

She is survived by two sons, L.C. Taylor, Jr. of Oak Level and Jimmy Ellyson of Martinsville, one daughter, Hilda Ayers of Martinsville, two brothers, Lawton Thomas of Appomattox and Butch Thomas of Brookneal, one granddaughter, Sherri Ayers Chambelain, three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Wood officiating the service and interment following in the Roselawn Burial Park.
