Doris Smith Kendrick age 89 of Martinsville, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Sovah Health Care in Martinsville. She was born March 29, 1928 in Franklin County to the late William Otho and Mary Alice Amos Smith. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Calvin Kendrick, two sons, James and Jesse Kendrick, one daughter Betty Kendrick, and her brothers, Henry and Robert Smith.
She was a member of Cool Springs Christian Church, and retired from Pulaski Furniture with over 20 years of service.
Mrs. Kendrick is survived by three sons, Thomas Wayne Kendrick and Timothy Kendrick of Martinsville, Joseph Allen Kendrick of Hickory, NC, three daughter, Kathy K. Higgs of Newton, NC, Brenda Hall of Penhook, VA, Sylvia Chaney of Ridgeway, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great, grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Friday March 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Arlene Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Doris Kendrick should be made to; Meals on Wheels at, T3C, Pittsylvania County Community Action, Inc., P.O. Box 1119, Chatham, VA 24531.
