Donald Curtis Murdock age 69 of 2140 Whispering Pines Road, Axton, died Saturday February 19, 2011 at his home. He was born February 19, 1942 in Washington County Virginia to the late Robert Washington and Edna Virginia Henderson Murdock. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by one sister, Opal Severt.
He was employed by Bobbitt Enterprises (Hardees), for many years as a maintenance man, and he was of the Holiness faith.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lorene Hendricks Murdock of the home, two sons, Donald Wayne Murdock of Ridgeway, and Curtis Edward Murdock of Ferrum, one daughter, Patricia M. Richards of Bassett, one brother, Ernest Leroy Murdock of Roanoke, three sisters, Colene Woods of Meadows of Dan, Gaynelle Sigmon and Wanda Keith of Martinsville, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday February 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Gerald Fitzgerald and Pastor Zach Furches officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday, and at other times at the home on 2140 Whispering Pines Road, Axton.
