Dessie Skeen Campbell age 94, passed away Saturday Oct. 27, 2018 at her home in Ridgeway. She was born Sept. 7, 1924 in Castlewood, VA to the late Charlie Hayter and Daisy Myrtle Chafin Skeen. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Lacy Earl Campbell, one son, Danny Earl Campbell, one grandson, Mark Hubbard, four brothers, Bernard, Curtis Roy and Glen Skeen, and two sisters, Elsie Jessee, and Shirley Addison.

She was of the Baptist faith, graduated from high school in Russell County, VA, and retired from Sara Lee Knitting with 22 years of service.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by one son, James Garland "Jimmy" Campbell and special friend Robin of the home, two daughters, Mary Jane Campbell Sowder and husband Billy of Bassett, and Karon Campbell Hankins and husband Dale of Pleasant Grove, four grandchildren, Susan Edwards of Eden, NC, Dwayne Campbell of Ridgeway, Richie Hankins of Fieldale, and Jason Hankins of Cinnaminson, NJ, two sisters, Katherine Malone of Rogersville, TN, and Anna Patrick of Bristol, VA, nine great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday Oct. 30, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Mike Hundley officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
