David Eugene Owens, Sr., 87, of Rocky Mount, VA., passed on Thursday October 23, 2024. He was born September 8, 1938, to the late Truby and Mary Taylor Owens. David retired from the Lane Company. He and his beloved wife, Inez Deal Owens who recently preceded him in death, September 28, 2025, attended Fork Mountain Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, and his wife, David was also preceded by his only two siblings, brother, James Owens and sister, Mary Ann Mullins.

David leaves to cherish his memory, two sons; Bobby St. John, and David E. Owens, Jr., two daughters; Rosa Potter, and Rebecca Hensley, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends one-hour prior beginning at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will be private in Roselawn Burial Park.
