David Courtland Eanes age 62 of Axton passed away Friday Oct. 6, 2017 at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1955 in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Ernest Ramey "Buddy" Eanes and Carolyn Crawford Eanes. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Michael Eanes.
He was a member of Christ's Church in Martinsville, a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, and had been employed by National General Insurance as a computer programmer. Over the years, David had many passions, including motorcycle racing, flying, photography, music, scuba diving, animals, ham radio, skiing, hunting, fishing, his career in IT development, and most of all being a loving father, grandfather, brother and son.
He is survived by two daughters, Courtney Eanes Smith and husband Ben, and Whitney D. Eanes, both of Baton Rouge, LA, one brother, Richard Eanes of Myrtle Beach, SC, one half brother, Nicholas Yiannopoulos of Baton Rouge, LA, one step brother, Barry Hughes of Fieldale, one sister, Tabitha Hipps of Axton, and one grandson, Wyatt Smith of Baton Rouge, LA.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday Oct. 11, 2017 in the Roselawn Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Buck Wardle officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Online condolences may be entered at www.roselawnchapelfuneralhome.com.
