Coy Lee Young, age 72, of 410 Deer Trail Road, Henry, died on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1940 in Bassett to the late Richard S. and Ella Saul Young.
He was a member of Stanleytown Baptist Church and was retired with 20 years service from Bassett Fiberboard. He was well known for playing Banjo in the area with Bluegrass and Country Music.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Martin Young of the home, two daughters, Debra Young of Fieldale and Cathy Law of Bassett, three step-daughters, Sue Barbour of Bassett, Tammy Vault of Roanoke and Cindy Tatum of Henry and four step-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Gardner officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the chapel of Roselawn from 7-9 p.m. and at other times at the home of his daughter, Debra Young, 867 Field Ave., Fieldale.
