Clifton Wells, 88, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center, with his family by his side.
Clifton was a lifelong member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church and was honored in 2003 for 50 years of service as a Board member and Deacon. He remained on the Board of Trustees until his death. He retired from Dan River Mills in 1990 after 46 years service. Clifton was a faithful church member and loyal employee but he was devoted most to his wife of 64 years, his children and grandchildren. He was born November 11, 1927 in Axton, VA to Joseph and Julia Wells. He was the youngest of 8 children. Clifton was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife, Doris Moran Wells, of the home, a son, Ron (Gwen) Wells of Greensboro, NC and a daughter, Sylvia Wells of Columbia, SC, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastors Gary Robertson and Karen Shelton officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6-8:00 pm in the chapel of Roselawn.
