Claude S. "Sandy" Ratliff, Jr. of Bassett, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Carillion Roanoke Hospital.  He was predeceased by his parents, Claude S. Ratliff, Sr. and Margaret Ratliff, and his brother, Danny Ratliff.  He is survived by one daughter, Lisa R. Sweeney and husband Jason of Martinsburg, WV, one son, Joshua Ratliff and fiancée Angela of Salisbury, NC, a sister Pamela R. Martin and husband, Gary of Bassett, a brother, Sidney Ratliff and wife Kerry of Bassett.  He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Sophia & Isaac Stambaugh of Martinsburg, WV, and Gaven Ratliff and Brianna Allman of Salisbury, NC., and several cousins in the area.  He was laid to rest in the Roselawn Cemetery Mausoleum on June 11, 2018.  A military memorial service will be held at a later date.  Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home of Martinsville is handling arrangements.
