Clarence Daniel Eldridge age 69 of Martinsville passed away on Friday Jan. 1, 2016 at Wake Forrest Bap. Med. Cen. in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born Mar. 5, 1946 in Bottom Creek, WV to the late Clarence S. and Martha Lester Eldridge. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by two brothers, Thomas Ray and Freddie Eldridge.
Clarence was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea and Germany, rising to the rank of SSG, and was awarded three Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from Vanity Fair with over 25 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Eldridge of the home, two sons, Gary Eldridge of Patrick County, and Dennis Eldridge of Collinsville, two daughters, Sandra Blankenship of Snow Creek, and Sharon Hodges of Collinsville, two sisters, Nancy Foster of Horsepasture, and Martha Ellen Majewski of Fayetteville, NC, six grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be Monday Jan. 4, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Don Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors by the Martinsville/Henry County Veterans Honor Guard.
