Clarence Lee DeHart age 75 of Martinsville, died Saturday May 21, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born October 17, 1935 in Stuart, VA to the late Henry Lee and Lillian Pilson DeHart. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first wife Kathryn Turner DeHart, and one sister, Shirley DeHart Smith.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and as a Martinsville Bulletin carrier for 27 years. He was an active member of Wesley Memorial UMC where he served on the Administrative Council, the PPR Committee, and as an Usher.
He is survived by his wife Marie Ratcliff DeHart of the home, two daughters, Denise DeHart Pate of Florence, SC, and Darlene DeHart Shotts of Concord, NC, two step daughters, Dellmarie Pittman of Fayetteville, NC, and Diana Lynn Carpenter of Lincolnton, NC, one sister, Louise DeHart Hatcher of Fieldale, and 6 step grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Steve Greer officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home.
