Charles Rondeau Trammell Sr, 83, passed away peacefully at home. He entered his eternal home on July 28th, 2026. Charles was born on April 23, 1943 in Greenville, SC to the late Homer Franklin & Ida Margaret Yeargin Trammell. Charles owned his own construction company and built several homes in the Upstate area of SC before joining Rodger’s Construction Company. He worked his way up to Superintendent and oversaw construction for several hospitals and high rises in the southeast. After moving to Martinsville, Virginia he worked in car sales for many years and was co-owner of the Blue Ridge Pontiac and GMC Truck dealership. He loved the art of “the deal”. Charles was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Charles was proceeded in death by his 3 brothers Durand, John, and James Trammell and his 3 sisters Sue, Betty and “Dot”. There is quite a reunion going on in heaven as they are all reunited together again! Charles had a strong work ethic that he instilled in his children. He shared his love of cars and racing with his sons and joked that his daughter was the only one that never gave him any trouble because boys will be boys. He was the proud sponsor of race car legend Butch Lindley for several years in the late 70s. He enjoyed going to the track and watching racing on television. He enjoyed telling stories and having a good laugh with friends and family. He loved his dogs and grand dogs and they loved him. He will be missed by many!

Charles is survived by Carol Martin Trammell his loving wife of 44 years. He was the proud father of 4 surviving children, Charles Rondeau Trammell, Jr. (Wendy), Connie Trammell Leppard (John) of Greenville, SC and Chad Tyler Trammell and Casey Rondeau Trammell of Martinsville, Va. and four grandchildren, Jake and Emily Trammell and Trae and Wesley Leppard.

Although services will be private, the family would like to thank friends and family for checking in during Charles’s recent health decline. He is now healed with a new body that doesn’t know pain and for that we are grateful.
