Charles David Staples age 78 of 2843 Old Leaksville Road, Ridgeway, died Thursday September 27, 2012 at his home. He was born April 13, 1934 in Patrick County to the late George Washington and Evelyn Brown Staples. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Ernestine Hennis Staples in 2008, and his brother, John G. Staples.
He was a graduate of Hardin Reynolds High School, and retired from Stone Container Company with over 35 years service as a warehouse worker. He was a member of Ayersville Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Charles M. Staples of Ridgeway, three daughters, Teresa Hildreth of Dalton, GA, Darlene Goodwin of Columbia, SC, and Lynn Safley of Olin, NC, one sister, JoAnn Byrum of Chuckatuck, VA, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday October 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Doug Bird officiating. The family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home on 2843 Old Leaksville Road, Ridgeway. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
