Catherine Painter Grant, 91, of Martinsville, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018.  She was born in Henry County on May 24, 1927 to the late Acey H. and Ollie Norman Painter.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lee Grant, two brothers, Charles and Cecil Painter, and a sister, Peggy Lemons.

She had worked for Hardee's and was a Nurses Aid before retiring.  She was a member of Fuller Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Grant is survived by her son, Donnie (Carolyn) Grant of Martinsville and her daughter, Sharon (Kenny) Cooper of Martinsville, a brother, Garland (Lena) Painter of Collinsville, a sister, Opal Moore of Fieldale, three grandchildren, Ivan Grant, Ginger (Tim) Dellinger, and Crystal (Travis) Taylor and three great-grandchildren, Cole Dellinger, Grant Taylor and Oliver Taylor.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Satterville officiating.  Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel, and at other times at the home of Sharon and Kenny Cooper, 1386 North Fork Road, Martinsville.
