Carline Perdue Rutter, 84, of Martinsville, passed Tuesday, March 25, 2025. She was born November 14, 1940, to the late Charles Adams Perdue and Edna Marie Perdue Cox.  She was retired from Sales Knitting Co and was a Charter Member for more than sixty-five years at Spring Street Baptist Church, in Martinsville.  In addition to her parents Carline was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar M. Rutter, one son, Christopher L. Rutter, and one sister, Brenda Helbert.

Surviving are one son, Chad M. Rutter, daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie L and Paul Setliff, brother, Toney D. Souther, sister, Eunice P. Barton, two grandchildren, Joshua Moore, and Kale Rutter, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in the Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with ministers, Daniel Hester, and Nick McCorquodale officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services beginning at 12:00 Noon.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Spring Street Baptist Church, P.O. Box. 4307 Martinsville, VA. 24112.
