Brenda Cartee Dalton Nelson age 67 of Martinsville died Tuesday May 21, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born October 9, 1945 in Martinsville to the late William Eugene and Dora Harris Cartee. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her 1st husband Nathan Earl Dalton, Sr., 2nd husband O.C. Nelson, and one brother, Eugene Corbett Cartee.

She was a Graduate of Martinsville High School Class of 1964, and was of the Presbyterian faith. Before becoming disabled she worked for Fieldcrest Mills for 18 years.

She is survived by two sons, Nathan Earl Dalton, Jr. of Moyock, NC, and John Franklin Dalton of Martinsville, two brothers, James William Cartee of Fairlawn, VA, and Dempsey Corbett Cartee of Martinsville, three sisters, JoAnn C. Higgins, Vickie D. Cartee, and Kathy M. Cartee all of Martinsville, four grandchildren, Codi Dalton, Tyler Dalton, Kellan Dalton , and Brooklyn Dalton, two step grandchildren, Tyler Akers and Jordan Akers, and nieces and nephews, J.D. Cartee, Tiffany Cartee, Sarah Cartee, James Higgins, Jr., Sullivan Higgins, and Tegan Jenkins.
