Beverly McLemore Jones, 78, passed away peacefully in the King's Grant Retirement facility on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Beverly was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Harvey and Audrey McLemore. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Eugene Jones of Martinsville, VA; daughter Julie Gooding and her husband Chet of Bowie Maryland; son Jeffrey Jones and his wife Kim of Snow Creek, VA.; son Jonathan Jones of Martinsville, Va.; grandchildren Zach Jones and his wife Beth of Winston Salem, NC.; Sarah Gooding and Zach Gooding of Bowie, Maryland; Benjamin Jones, Gabriel Jones, Olivia Jones and Sophia Jones of Snow Creek, VA.
Beverly graduated from Auburn University and was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher in Martinsville, VA. She was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as a member of the United Methodist Women and the Young Adult Sunday School Class. Beverly loved to grow her violets and other flowers and she also worked with Clothe-A-Child for many years.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Monday, March 30 at the Roselawn Funeral Home, 103 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, VA 24112. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Service in the church sanctuary. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Steven Greer officiating. A luncheon will be served after the service by the ladies of the church for the family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 824 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, Virginia.
