Betty Hopkins Richardson age 81 of Martinsville, passed away on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at Sovah Hospital in Martinsville. She was born Jan. 2, 1937 in Henry County, VA to the late Sanford Lee and Lela H. Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Alvin Hopkins, and one sister, Lessie Stone.

She was a member of Full Gospel Baptist Church, a graduate of Fieldale High School Class of 1957, and worked over 21 years for Tultex.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Richardson of the home, three daughters, Gloria Wright of Fieldale, Marlene Foster of Collinsville, and Sharon Meeks of Cascade, VA, one brother Vernon "Bunny" Hopkins, two sisters, Velma McGhee and Annie Stowe of Fieldale, and one granddaughter, Zoey Collins of Cascade, VA.

Her funeral service will be Monday May 7, 2018 in the Roselawn Chapel at 1:00 PM with Bishop Sidney Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
