Betty Bowles Compton, 84, of Collinsville, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022, at Roman Eagle Nursing Home in Danville, VA. She was born December 4, 1937, to the late Frank Allen and Nellie Stone Bowles. She worked as a Loan Officer for Sovran Mortgage Co. and later retired from the Franklin County Social Services where she worked as an Eligibility Counselor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Pete Bowles, and two sisters; Frances Kendrick and Judy Clifton.

Surviving are one son, Michael "Dean" Compton, one daughter, Shanon C. Nichols, three brothers, Steve, David, and Dennis Bowles, five Grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2022, in the Roselawn Burial Park, where the family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to services.
