Obituary
Betsy Ross Smith Howell age 81 of Martinsville, passed away Sunday Nov. 2, 2014 at Stanleytown Health & Rehab Center. She was born in Henry County on Jan. 17, 1933 to the late Fred C. and Lois Ross Smith.
She worked for Lee, Centel, and Sprint Telephone Co. for 42 years.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William D. Howell of the home, daughter Rebecca H. Sheppard and her husband Richard E. Sheppard, Jr. of Martinsville, granddaughter Elizabeth Sheppard Motley and her husband James H. Motley of Martinsville, great grandson, Luke Motley of Martinsville, three sisters, Tootsie Cassell of Collinsville, Nancy Whitlow of Martinsville, and Temple Smith of Bassett.
There will be a private graveside service.
