Beatrice Ann
Wagoner
September 2, 1945 – April 23, 2026
Beatrice Ann Holland Wagoner, age 80, of Martinsville, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Mountain Valley Hospice. was born on September 2, 1945, in Stokes County to the late Oscar Boyd Holland and Beatrice Stevens Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Boyd Lee Holland; her sister, Betty Holland Nash; and her son, Jeffrey Curtis Mabe. Beatrice is survived by her three devoted daughters: Michelle Snead (Roy), Hope Rea (Chris), and Alisha Hill (Sheldon). She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren, six beloved great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Charlotte, who held a dear place in her heart.
Beatrice was a woman of strong faith who loved God deeply. She was raised on a tobacco farm, where she learned the value of hard work and carried that work ethic throughout her life. She dedicated many years working in a sewing factory until her retirement. Never one to slow down, she later returned to school to continue her education—an accomplishment she was proud of.
Her life was centered around her family. She found great joy in helping raise her great-grandchildren and nurturing those she loved. She shared a special and meaningful bond with her son-in-law, Roy, whom she loved dearly. A talented and creative woman, she enjoyed sewing beautiful outfits for her daughters, drawing, and tending to her garden. Her knowledge of flowers was remarkable, and she lovingly created a peaceful sanctuary in her backyard. She also expressed her love through cooking and baking, especially making cakes for her girls. She also held a special place in her heart for her faithful companion, her dog Roscoe, who stayed lovingly by her side.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Mountain Valley Hospice for their exceptional care, especially nurse Josea, whose compassion and attention to detail brought great comfort during Beatrice’s final days.
The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to Care Advantage for the support and care provided in her home over the past year, with special thanks to care coordinator Monica Frankum, and two caregivers who were especially dear to Beatrice, Bailey Tillman and Kayla Thompson.
A private service will be held by the family in her remembrance.
