Andy William Inman, age 94, of 911 Meadow Lane, Martinsville died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Patrick County to the late Arthur and Nina Obery Inman on July 9, 1920. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Russell, and Akers Inman and a sister, Martha Mitchell.
He had retired from W.M. Bassett and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and saw action in Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes , Rhineland and Central Europe.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lena Inman of the home, five sons, Charlie Inman of Callands, James Inman of Ridgeway, Anthony Inman of Patrick County, Ray Inman of Martinsville and Kenneth Inman of Richmond, three daughters, Kay Garman of Collinsville, Lea Inman Hough of Statesville, NC and Lillie Argabright of Boones Mill, one sister, Lou Cole of Westfield, NC. 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
The funeral service will be Thursday April 2, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Roselawn Chapel with Todd Conn, Lowell Stultz, and Charles Childress officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn burial Park with military honors by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel.
