Alma Ardelia Walker Harman, age 98 of Bassett, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born on July 12, 1916 in Mercer Co., WV to the late McGennis and Annie Mann Walker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Zachariah Harman in 2004, a son James Ernest Harman, brothers, Woodrow Walker, Gommer Walker, Franklin Walker, Samson Walker, Ned Walker, Burrell Walker and Arthur Mann, and sisters, Alzie Walker, Ollie Carr and Annie Harman.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had retired from Bassett-Walker.
She is survived by a son, Franklin Harman of Collinsville, her daughters, Cleo Goard and Sylvia "Joey" Sink both of Bassett, Shirley Burgess of Petersburg and Marie "Mikki" Anderson of Danville, a brother, John Walker of FL, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor John Shelley and Chad Hall officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the Roselawn Chapel.
