Akers Inman, age 77, of 119 Askin Street, Martinsville, died on November 08, 2011 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was bon on July 28, 1934 in Patrick County to the late Arthur and Nina Willard Inman. In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his wife, Catherine Inman in 2002, two brothers, John Inman and Russell Inman and a sister, Martha Mitchell.
He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and was a carpenter for American Standard Homes where he retired after 28 years of service.
He is survived by his fiance Frances Fowler of Fieldale, a brother, Andy Inman of Martinsville and a sister, Louise Cole of Asbury, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Evans officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the chapel of Roselawn and at other times at the home of his brother Andy Inman, 911 Meadow Lane, Martinsville.
