Ada Stowe Gauldin age 94 of Martinsville, died Tuesday Nov. 20, 2012 at her home. She was born Feb. 7, 1918 in Patrick County to the late James Robert and Martha Biggs Stowe. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Albert Gauldin in 1991, her daughter Gwynn Stone, one grand daughter Tammy Corns, her two brothers Otis and Albert Stowe, and her two sisters, Addie Smith and Mary Macemore.
She was a graduate of Critz High School, and the Shackleford Hospital Nursing School. She retired from Pannill Knitting Co. as an inspectress, and was an active member of Fontaine Baptist Church where she had served as bible school teacher, Sunday school teacher, served in all the women's groups, committees, and the prayer ministry. She also volunteered with the Blood Mobile and hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Gauldin of Collinsville, and Glenn Gauldin of Ridgeway, three grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Saturday Nov. 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Andrew Shanks officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Fri. Nov. 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel.
